Food for thought: Are NSF Certified lubricants necessary for the Food & Pharma industry?

How do we ensure that the food & pharma products that we use are safe for consumption?
The NSF International was founded in 1944 by the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health as the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) to standardize sanitation and food safety requirements. NSF certification is your key to make sure that the products you use meet strict standards for public health protection.
Machinery used in Food and Pharma manufacturing requires regular maintenance. Using the right lubricants can drastically increase life and reduce maintenance downtime. However, incidental contact with food is something the maintenance managers have to look at closely. To this effect, NSF certified lubricants become necessary.
In the case of lubricants, NSF has three levels of certifications: H1, H2 and H3.
